Indonesians sent a loud message to George Bush during his visit to Indonesia yesterday. On Sunday, close to 13,000 people marched through the streets of Jakarta carrying banners reading "Bush: Wanted dead or alive for crimes against humanity" and dragging an effigy of Bush.
I was so happy to see the turnout of Indonesians expressing their anger at US policies. One of the things I've always admired about Indonesia is how socially and politically aware and active the people are there, and how organized they are. It's truly inspiring.Indonesia is the 5th largest country in the world, and has the largest Muslim population (190 million).
